Three weeks in a gite near Cour-Cheverny, in the Loire Valley, quite near to the town of Blois.
We found the countryside to be either flat, boring farmland or homogenous forestry.
The weather was very disappointing, with over a week of rain.

The house was quite secluded and Jean did manage some sunbathing.

We went to see the chateaux and they, at least, were good.  I am not very pleased with my photos, but I hope they will be of some interest,

We did like Blois.

The chateau at Amboise is even more imposing, high up on mediaeval fortifications.
