Set on the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône, Lyon contends with Marseille to be France's second city.  We took the train in, because the traffic is bedlam.  The shops were nothing special and our lunch at Paul Bocuse was a disappointment.  We can't really recommend a visit to Lyon.
