The old town of Cluny used to be one of the most powerful cities of Europe.  It is a good place to visit, with some nice shops.

Le Tour des Fromages (Tower of Cheeses) provides an excellent view of the town.

The outline of the massive abbey can be seen from its remains.

At one end of the abbey, this hotel was a good place for lunch.   

There are some official stables next to the abbey ruins.
